A Sneak Peek Into the New 4th Grade Classroom

Our classroom has undergone a HUGE transformation over the course of the past three weeks. From paint to curtains to turtles, our new space is ready for learning and ready for you!

Below are a few "sneak peek" photos of things that have been happening. You will see it all in person...very soon! :)

P.S. Please be thinking of some great names for our new turtles! (2)

Our new curtains are showing the color scheme for our room. The curtians also leave a great window space at the bottom for sunlight to shine in on us.

Supply baskets are all set to go! Pencils are being sharpened this week. Learning begins at 7:50 am on June 6th!

We will all become gardeners and plants will surround us everywhere! We will be helping Mr. Stokes plant the butterfly garden the first week of school!

We have amazing ceramic artwork provided by Mr. Rogers!

The Channel 4 news studio is almost complete! Our director chairs are ready and the official Channel 4 sign is being painted this week. We will be producing the news once each week. Be practicing your reporter voice! :)

Together we will all be GURUS! A GURU is an intellectual leader and the word GURUS stands for "Green Unique Radical Unstoppable Students". I can't wait to share more of my vision for this year with you soon!

We have eight awesome paintings by Ms. Bartles of Missouri state symbols! They are really spectacular and are going to be a great start to learning about our great state!

This special piece is on your desk! You'll find out soon what its use it going to be. :)

This book will give you a hint about the first book we will be reading in shared reading. This fact will also give you a hint about the field trip I have planned after we read this book.

40 degrees - The temperature maintained on the set to keep the film's six Antartic starts comfortable. A chilly penguin is a happy penguin, but the film's human costar Jim Carrey might not have been so content!

The computers are all set and ready to go! You each have one that has been assigned to you and we will use them the very first day of school! I have been exploring all of the programs on them and they are really awesome!!

Enjoy the last week of your vacation and I will see you soon!

Welcome to 4th Grade

Welcome to 4th Grade and the 4th Grade Blog!

I am beyond excited to begin our 4th Grade year and cannot wait to see everyone June 6th!

Welcome meetings will take place with each family. Please e-mail me two or three options of days and times that will work for you. Monday through Thursday works best for me and I am available anytime after noon.

This classroom blog will serve as a great communication tool for announcements from the myself, photos, details and happenings in the classroom and will also serve as a voice for the students to show what they are learning.

Enjoy your final week of vacation and I will see you in a week!
